Did you know? Mocha Hut Kudos
We received 4 Stars from AOL's Washington DC City Guide! The Mocha Hut Coffeehouse is a neighborhood coffeehouse located in the 16th Street
Heights and U Street neighborhoods. Opened at the end of 2000 and is open seven days a week, the Mocha Hut was launched to provide superior service and an
unparalleled atmosphere for residents and visitors to enjoy gourmet coffee and fine light fare. The coffeehouse provides a comfortable setting for lounging and enjoying beverages
and food as well as take-out service. Our clientele can enjoy gourmet coffees from around the world and a wide selection of teas, fresh juices, pastries and other light snacks.
Complementing the physical surroundings of the Mocha Hut are selections of artwork by local and international
artists that decorate the walls and are available for purchase. In addition a wide selection of reading materials
are available from daily newspapers such as the Washington Post and New York Times to other specialty
publications like the Afro American and the Washington City Paper, to mention a few. Thursday evenings finds a
poetry workshop hosted at the Mocha Hut for all to enjoy. The Mocha Hut also plans to continue to offer live music on Friday evenings. "And at Mocha Hut
(4706 14th Street, NW) you'll find freshly-brewed coffee, a light, tasty menu and a great sense of camaraderie. At the U Street location—where live entertainment can be found regularly—warm, earthy
colors adorn the walls, which contain works of art by local artists. Have work to do? No worries—bring your
laptop and wireless card and surf the net on Mocha Hut's high speed Wi-Fi connection. Feast on an assortment
of baked goods and a menu of sandwiches, the names of which pay homage to Washington, DC. Be sure to try the Ellington, or an order of fluffy pecan waffles—breakfast is served all day." ~
